Things to know
- Stamp duty is set by Article 25 of the Maharashtra Stamp Act. Women buyers get a 1 percentage point reduction (in force since April 2021); conditions apply, so confirm eligibility with the sub-registrar.
- The registration fee is ₹100 plus ₹10 for every ₹1,000 above ₹10,000, which works out to about 1%, capped at ₹30,000.
- Some municipal corporations add a metro cess on top of stamp duty (see the IGR Maharashtra circulars). It is not included here.
